About Pine Island
Our outpost on Roderick Lake is situated on an island 7 miles south of the main camp, on Roderick Lake. Roderick Lake has pristine bays and outlets, which are ideal for prime fishing. The lake boasts of having a large number of fish including walleye, northern pike, and lake trout. Roderick Lake also features two portage lakes: Walleye lake and Evans Lake.
Please note, these portage lakes are also available to the people staying at the Main Camp, so please make arrangements with the Camp Manger ahead of time.
Fishing typically consists of mid-lake reefs and structure for walleye, combined with shallow weedy points and inlets for trophy class northern pike fishing. Weekly northern pike catches in excess of 40″ are not uncommon.
We have a strict catch and release policy for trophies, ensuring world class fishing for many generations to come.
Constructed on site, from local pine logs, the cabin provides three (3) bedrooms accommodating up to six (6) people, and features solar powered 120V lights and electricity. The cabin is very well equipped with a propane range, fridge, freezer, mattresses, and three-piece bathrooms (urinal, sink and shower), and complete with hot and cold running water. A charcoal barbecue on the deck is also included.

Roderick Lake is truly an awesome fishery. I’ve fished it in May, June, July and August with great results during each calendar period under many different circumstances. Walleye, Northern Pike and Lake Trout are the featured sport fish here with great numbers and size of fish available.”
